Cycling Surf Safari Tassie Style
December 22nd, 2009

While most BnC gangsters were getting drunk in the festive season. Notorious Dead Fucking Last (DFL) alley cat smasher Liam headed out west to suck up some of the sights and surf the west coast of Tasmania has to offer. The good news is that beer is of similar price in Zeehan as it is in Hobart, the bad news is that there is about 1 bottle shop per 1000 Square km. If however you can catch crayfish, you’ll be able to trade in the other currency of the west coast (its worth more than crays per kg but they don’t sell licenses for it yet and its a similar colour to the foreground in the photo).

Nice work on the West Coast mission. Took snorkling kit as well? Keen to get my hands on some Abs sometime soon. MP, Kiwi and I did a bikepacking run down south where I jumped in the ocean and pulled out a billy full of mussells which we cooked on the fire.. not a patch on Crayfish! Onshore the whole time or did you get a few good days in? The surf down here hasn’t been much chop, although did get a good waves down on Bruny Island last week.
The comment ‘most BnC gangsters were getting drunk’ is a tad misplaced.. In the past three weeks there has been alot more riding and miles down than booze downed (although last Friday nearly tipped the scale).. actually, where were you last Friday? It was a no-show from the entire Seaview Crew at the BnC Silo Run/AGM! Tsk, tsk..
Anyway, keen to catch up. I’m out on the bike pretty much everyday and Dave and I are looking at doing a dirt century in the Midlands next Sunday if you’re keen. 4X in the Park Boxing Day arvo. Let me know when ya next day off is eh? Benny
