Place on repeat, spin and spin until you are throwing up a little bit and your legs are screaming like Mexican villagers in a spaghetti western. The 100km teams event was an awesome last hurrah for the 2009 “season”. The Grateful Brothers were crushed by most of (but not all of) the other lycra whippet teams on their XC full sussers. Two part time guys on Rigid SS whooped through in 7.02 for the 100. (My first 60km in four hours and 1 minute. Damo’s back 40km in three flat). Stoked.
Next up? some twelve hour racing, BnC kit and a Monster Cross build. Give ‘er.
I find Mindsnare rather appropriate for race speed/bombing downhill (http://www.myspace.com/mindsnarehc) whilst Off Minor works well for thrashing around short track(http://www.myspace.com/offminor) but I guess if I’m really wanting to flog myself on the bike by spending ALL DAY in the saddle, the tunes have gotta be a little slower and mr Austin Lucas will do the trick (http://www.myspace.com/austinlucas1)..
Yes. I concur with the monster ‘cross build. My new frame will accept 700c x 45s! Haha, now I gotta try that!
I’m still all about Municipal Waste when it comes to killing yourself on a high speed descent.
For night riding by yourself, I can recommend Aphex Twin: “Come to Daddy”
