Cookin’ Up A Storm

It’s here! The Hobart Bike Kitchen has been whispered about behind bicycle shop counters, over tip-shop walls and through the streets of Hobart for the last few months. A growing momentum and good dose of rabid bicycle hoarding and collecting has seen things spring into action, and the Kitchen is now open! Stoking the ovens and putting the kettle on every Sunday arvo, the Hobart Bike Kitchen is dedicated to getting old bikes up and running, keeping bikes on the road, and celebrating all things pedalled.

Their website is now live, so head over and check out some snaps and keep up to date with everything that’s happening. Get involved if you can, the more the merrier. And tell all your mates, it’s all about spreading the word and making this thing explode!

  1. No supply of cotter pins,,,, to tell the truth me and cotter pins aren’t really good friends.
    I’m sure I’ll grow close to them in the coming months….

    Today Liam and I check out Margate Tip shop and scored 6 or so good looking frames that place is the bomb.

  2. dont worry about pandadol, bro nurse liam has got endone locked in the cupboard and the key is under the mat!!

    he also has an ice axe and will be sleeping post nightshift till 2pm so don’t even try to mix your arvos with mornings and get here any earlier!!

  3. What is ‘Endone’?

    What has you got?? Could be a really good Sunday Session.

    The Nurse in Mutitjulu gave everyone a drip one Sunday morning post a ‘night shift’. Worked wonders… Perhaps you could bring home some saline solution?

  4. we just had a bike kitchen open up here in Gosford. Privately run (from an old storage shed/panel beaters) but still an essential service for locals, and the guy is not a scammer, he’s a legit recycler of bikes and helps get people on two wheels !! I’ll try to get some pics and post it up here and spread the word.

  5. endone = strong semisynthetic opioid pain killer = restricted

    saline is for pansies, just jump over the fence and suck up some sea water.

    might be able to find some ‘hartmans’ which shits all over saline

    One litre of Hartmann’s solution contains:

    * 131 mEq of sodium ion = 131 mmol/L.
    * 111 mEq of chloride ion = 111 mmol/L.
    * 29 mEq of lactate = 29 mmol/L.
    * 5 mEq of potassium ion = 5 mmol/L.
    * 4 mEq of calcium ion = 2 mmol/L .
