The words of BnCs favourite NZud’er, Matty Rayment: “Cooper’s Pale Ale is delicious. Apparently it’s made from angel tears and panda blood*. Who knew?” …we did Matty, we did. For this very reason a Surly Chain Tensioner/Bottle Opener was installed on the rear of the 1×1. Tip of the day? Always have a case of Coopers handy.
(* L-Dub had me under the impression that Coopers was ‘vegan friendly’. Who knew?)
They’re twist-top mate.
(shhh…!)
I have a friend with a Hecklorrrrrrr who has a bottle opener on the end of it also. Never uses it but. Singlespeeds for the win. AGAIN>
A heap of the Santa Cruz’s come with ’em on the dropouts, but you can’t actually use it once the derailleur’s on. I still think a pedal works perfectly well!
Oh yeah, the finest. And they are sponsoring the Aussie SS Nats at Awaba this year. Who’s coming?
Brendo, I’m out. 🙁 ..our bub is due shortly after and I have to support the Missus on the trip south the same week. Will be doing the double in NZud in 2010! Who’s coming?
coopers longnecks aren’t twistop. just sayin.
Just checked. My Coppers stubbies are NOT twist top.
Gotta watch those standard police-issue beers mate.
Just out of interest MP, is Powerade twistop?
Interestingly enough the Coopers in MY fridge ARE twist tops. Is that because it is too dangerous for Kiwi’s to use said bottle openers?
Un-doubtedly. Blunt plastic spoon for you my boy. ..and a straw for your beer?
In the name of scientific endevour I went and bought another carton of Coopers Pale. So far I have opened three stubbies and they have all been NON-twist top.. I’ll check the rest of the carton and report back later..
Here in Adelaide, where, you know, Coopers is made, they are always twist tops.
😉
conducted some more science last night. this time.. twist top.
they changed to twist top about 4 years ago….maybe you have some really old beer?? love the price in nz, was paying $11nz / 6 pack at xmas time…cheaper than the case price here in sydney
That’s about $8.70AU. Half what you pay here.
